government has taken vital decision to supply ration commodities to eligible
beneficiaries smoothly and to benefit more. For this Iris system is made
available to avail ration commodities. Phase wise it will be implemented all
over the state.
Civil Supplies
Department is going to start this program from 15th August in
Peddapalli, Macherial, Sircilla and Yadadri districts.
Commissioner for
Civil Supplies Sri Akun Sabharwal held review meeting with Civil Supplies
officials of Peddapalli and Mancherial on Monday. He visited Fair Price Shops
in the district and inspected ration commodity distribution. On his visit to
ration shops Commissioner noticed finger print recognizing defects. Some of the
beneficiaries complained to Commissioner of facing the finger print problem in
availing commodities.
Telangana
government is supplying ration commodities with finger print identification.
But, in some cases, mainly with elder people and women as their finger prints
got rashes or wiped off due to which Epos machines doesn’t authorize them.
Civil Supplies
Department gave powers to VRO, VAO, Civil Supplies Inspectors to one time
authorization to solve this problem.
It came to the
notice of the Commissioner that at some places this authorization is been
misused. Iris method is speed up to tackle this problem.
At the review
meeting Commissioner said that Iris will be introduced in all 17,200 ration
shops state wide step-by-step. First, from 15th August it will be
introduced in Peddapalli, Mancherial, Siriclla and Yadadri districts. In second
phase, from 1st September it will be implemented in districts of
Siddipet, Jagitial and Mahabubnagar and then from September 25th in
the remaining districts of Telangana.
Civil Supplies
Department is taking all measure to see that all the eligible beneficiaries get
essential commodities supplied by the government on subsidy.
He said Iris
will help largely for supplying essential commodities to all the beneficiaries
without any difficulty, irregularity and very smoothly. Efforts are made to implement
Iris system in state wide as soon as possible.
