Sabarimala sees a flow of devotees on the fourth day of Mandala season
On the fourth day of the Mandala pilgrimage, Sabarimala sees a flow of devotees on Monday morning. A large gathering of devotees was seen in wait during the time the temple was opened early morning at 3. Police were seen helping the devotees to ascend the holy steps. Though a large number of devotees are coming for darshan, Police have made arrangements for the smooth flow of traffic and darshan. This time, there were no issues of people forced to stand in long queues for darshan.
The counters of Appam and Aravana at Sannidhanam is receiving a large number of devotees and this has created a rush at these counters. The Travancore Devaswom Board has made necessary arrangements for the devotees to do the neyabhishekam from morning 3.15 to 12.30 in the afternoon. This has helped to stave off the usual rush that has been seen in the earlier season when devotees came for doing the neyabhishekam here.
Sahas Cardiology centre starts functioninig at Sabarimala
Sahas Cardiology centre at Sabarimala has started functioning this season. Kollam District Judge and Sabarimala Special Commissioner M Manoj inaugurated the functioning of the centre. Sahas Cardiology centre has been operating at Sannidhanam from 1993 with OP, ICU and trauma care facility. They have also been operating Sopanam Preventive Centre to give primary treatments to the devotees for the last six years. Apart from giving heart-related treatments, the centre also imparts treatment to the respiratory problems of the devotees. According to Dr O Vasudevan, around 250 people are availing the service of the centre on a daily basis.
Instructions to Devotees by Sahas Cardiology Centre
Devotees ailing from the heart, respiratory problems should consult a doctor and take advice before coming to Sabarimala.Devotees should take with them the medicines they are consuming on a daily basis.Devotees should keep hot water always while climbing the hill and should drink sufficient water while trekking.Devotees coming from a long distance should take appropriate rest before taking the hill route. They should also check their blood pressure at Pamba and take the doctor's advice. Devotees find any uncomfortable should seek the help of government hospital, Sahas Cardiology centre and Sopanam Clinic.
Devaswom Board makes arrangements to distribute free medicinal drinking water
Travancore Devaswom Board has taken steps in distributing free medicinal drinking water to the devotees at various points at Sabarimala. Around 40 counters have been already opened from Neelimala to Pandithavalam in distributing drinking water to the devotees. 305 staffs have been deployed in these centres said Devaswom Board special officer B Satheesan. He added that more staffs will be appointed in the wake of a rise in the number of devotees. In Sannidhanam alone there are around seven counters and they were at the Sopanam, Valiyanadapanthal, Malikappuram, Pandithavalam, Annadana mandapam, Aazhi, Vellanivedya counter.
Fire and Rescue officials clean roads at Pamba
The Kerala Fire and Rescue services on Monday cleaned the pathway in front of the Government hospital here at Pamba. The road leading to the hospital was clogged with mud and other wastes. This has posed threat to devotees as well as the officials here at Pamba. Moreover, this was one of the busiest places in Sabarimala.District Fire Officer C Renjith lead his team of 10 officers in cleaning the road off waste and mud.
Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam visits Sabarimala
Union Minister for State Alphons Kannanthanam visited Sabarimala on Monday. The minister had come to Sannidhanam after paying visit to Nilakkal and Pamba. He had gone through various arrangements made at Sabarimala as part of the pilgrimage. He later returned by 1.20 in the afternoon.
