Facilities at Sabarimala are satisfactory: HC Monitoring Committee



The Monitoring Committee appointed by the High Court on their visit here at Sabarimala has concluded on Tuesday that the facilities that have been made for devotees are satisfactory. They said this while meeting with different department heads at Sannidhanam. The Committee has observed that they have not found in their inspection any difficult situation for devotees for their darshan of Lord Ayyappa. The facilities made at Nilakkal are good and the Committee is happy with that. They have also put forward a certain suggestion for improvement of facilities at Pamba since the area was totally devastated in the floods. They demanded more toilet facilities.
They have also made the suggestion to the KSRTC to run more buses as the crowd increases. They want the department to make sure of the transportation facilities for devotees from Nilakkal to Pamba since the private vehicles are not allowed beyond Nilakkal. KSRTC official said that so far 159 buses are running in the stretch and more services will be added according to the rush.
The committee also instructed the Forest Department necessitate action in removing the hindrance that laid a block to the construction of the tractor path near to Sahas Cardiology centre. A detailed report regarding the Committee visit will be submitted before High Court, said the Committee chairman. Committee Chairman Devaswom Ombudsman Justice P R Raman, members Justice S Sirijagan, ADGP A Hemachandran were present.
