BRAHMOTSAVAMS OFF TO A COLOURFUL START IN KAPILESWARA SWAMY TEMPLE


 

Tirupati, 25 February 2019: The annual brahmotsavams in the famous shrine of Lord Sri Kapileswara Swamy off to a religious start on Monday with Dhwajarohanam in the auspicious Kumbha Lagnam at 7.19am.

 

As a part of this ceremonial flag hoisting event, the Dhwajapatam(holy flag) with the image of Nandi (divine bull) was rendered puja by the Saiva Agama pundits followed by Abhishekam, Bali, Nivedana, Deeparadhana and other rituals. The Abhishekam to Dhwajam (temple pillar) is performed only once in a year during the time of Dhwajarohanam of annual brahmotsavams in the temple.

 

Speaking on this occasion, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal said, the important days includes Nandi Vahanam on March 4 on the auspicious day of Maha Sivarathri, Sri Paravati Parameswara Kalyanam on March 5 and Trisula Snanam on March 6.

 

He said, elaborate floral, electrical and security arrangements were made in view of the festival in the temple.

 

CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, DyEO Sri Subramanyam, VGO Sri Ashok Kumar Goud, AEO Sri Nagaraju and others were also present.
