Over a Lakh, In addition had Darshan in May - TTD EO




Tirumala, 7 Jun. 19: Hill Town of Tirumala has witnessed an unprecedented pilgrim crowd of 25.82 lakhs during the summer vacation in the month of May this year which is over a lakh more when compared to the previous year, said TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.

The EO speaking to media persons at Annamaiah Bhavan on Friday after the Dial your EO programme said, during May 2018 about 24.81lakh pilgrims had darshan of Lord Venkateswara while the figure has gone up to 25.89lakhs in this May which is 1.07lakhs more, he observed.  He lauded the effective coordination of all TTD staff, heads of all departments, Vigilance, Srivari Sevakulu, Scouts and Guides in manning the pilgrim crowd.

DEVOTEES WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR OVER 30 HOURS THIS WEEK END

Owing to Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam ritual in Srivari temple on June 9, the devotees will have to wait for over 30 hours on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. "Usually on Saturdays and Sundays, we could be able to provide darshan to nearly 95thousands and even one lakh pilgrims respectively during this peak season.

But this weekend, the figure may shortfall by 15-20thousands owing to the special event in the temple. I, therefore, urge the pilgrims via media to plan their pilgrimage accordingly and prepare themselves to wait for more hours than usual for their turn of darshan", he maintained.
Briefing the media on a series of other religious events in Tirumala temple and other sub-temples, he said:
From June 14-16 Jyestabhisekam will be performed in Tirumala.
Maha Samprokshnam at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram with the once in the 12-year event of Astabandhana Balalayam from June 9-13.

From June 9-13 annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Venkateswara temple in Hyderabad.

June 13-17, Teppotsavam at Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Tiruchanoor.

Annual Brahmotsavams at Appalayagunta Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple from June 13-21.

Sri Sundararaja Swami Avatarotsavams from June 23-25 at Sub-temple in Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple at Tiruchanoor.
