Kapileswara Swamy Vari Temple Brahmotsavams off to a Ceremonious Start










Tirupati, 14 Feb. 20: The annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple off to a religious start on Friday with the ceremonious Dhwajarohanam.

The Executive Officer Sri Anil Kumar Singhal said that as per Shaiva Agama tradition, the annual fete, which commenced on February 14, would last up to February 23.

After the Dwajarohanam at 8.04am in Kumbha Lagnam where in Nandi Dhwaja was hoisted atop the temple mast amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns at the temple premises, the EO said TTD had spent about Rs20.50 lakhs on civil engineering works and 6 lakhs towards electrical decorations and 4 tonnes of flowers for the annual event.

Pushkarani has been cleaned up and Anna Prasadam, water, buttermilk, milk etc.will be served to pilgrims both in the morning and evening. On Mahasivaratri day on February 21, annaprasadam will be served to thousands of devotees who throng to witness presiding deity as well as Nandi Vahana Seva.

The EO said about 250 srivari sevaks, 150 scouts have also been deployed apart from TTD Security to offer services to devotees.

JEO Sri P Basanth Kumar, DyEO Sri Subramanyam, Superintendent Sri Bhupati and other office staff were also present.
