Tirumala, 28 Mar. 20: The green environs of Tirumala echoed to the rhythmic chants of Dhanwantari Mantra on Saturday as a part of the Maha Purnahuti observed on the final day of the three day Sri Srinivasa Shantyotsava Sahita Dhanwantari Maha Yagam.

This unique Vaikhanasa Agama fete aimed at invoking the blessings of Sri Dhanwantari-the Lord of Medicine in Hindu Sanatana Dharma which was performed by Ritwiks from Chaturvedas with utmost devotion from March 26 to 28 at Dharmagiri Veda Vijnana Peetham in Tirumala.

Speaking on this occasion, Sri Mohana Rangacharyulu, the Vaikhanasa Agama Advisor to TTD said, among the different utsavas mentioned in Agamas, Dhanwantari Maha Yagam comes under the category of Shantyotsavam, peace, prosperity, health and wealth of the entire humanity.

"In the Seven Maha Yaga Pyres set up in this sacred place, we invoke the blessings of 24 deities to weed off the negative forces and harmful viruses including Covid 19 which are troubling the entire humanity. Dhanwantari Maha Japa Mantra is being recited for eight times by everyone who has directly participated in the ritual as well those who witnessed the fete via SVBC live programme across the world", he said.   

Sri Sitaramacharuyulu, one of the chief Vedic exponents who conducted the Yagam said, on Saturday Maha Purnahuti is observed and the sacred waters which were rendered as Abhishekam to Sri Dhanwantari and Sri Sudarshanamurthy will be mixed in the Theerthas of Tirumala so that these waters will vaporise and reach the Solar system. The rays from lord Surya will suppress the toxic effects of the harmful viruses across the globe and protect the humanity from dreadful Covid 19 Viruses, he added.

Tirumala Pedda Jiyangar, Tirumala Chinna Jiyangar Swamijis, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, DyEO Sri Harindranath, Prinicipal Sri KSS Avadani, Chief Priest of Tirumala Temple Sri Venugopala Dikshitulu, Health Officer Dr RR Reddy, OSD Temple Sri P Seshadri and others were also present.
