Somesh Kumar,IAS., Chief Secretary to Govt.of TS flagged off Train carrying migrant workers at Nampally Railway Station




Chief Secretary Sri Somesh Kumar,IAS., today flagged off trains carrying migrant workers from Nampally railway station today.  Later speaking to newsmen, he said that 88 trains have so far transported 1.22 lakh migrant workers from various stations in the state.  While 6 trains are leaving from Nampally today, another 40 trains are leaving from other stations for different states.  By midnight all the trains would leave and around fifty thousand workers would be transported to different destinations, he added.  The railways are providing food to the migrant workers.  The state government is arranging two food packets and three litres of drinking water and fruits for each migrant worker.  He congratulated the police, and other department officials for  effective coordination and monitoring of such a stupendous task.  He said that most of the migrant workers who have registered with the state government have left by today and most of them have also expressed their desire to come back to the state again.
DGP Mahender Reddy  observed that the migrant workers are part of the reconstruction process of the state.  He felt that sending the migrant workers to their respective hometowns safely and conveniently in a dignified atmosphere is a goodwill gesture by the state government.
Additional DG Jitender, Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar,  GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Secretary  PR & RD Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Secretary Finance Ronald Ross, Ranga Reddy Joint Collector Harish and other officials were present on the occasion.
