Hyderabad, Jan 6: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has appreciated and handed over a cheque for Rs 80,000 to Sub Inspector Gandrathi Satish.
The Governor was highly appreciative
of his initiative in raising an amount of Rs 1.6 lakh, which also included his
personal contribution of Rs 80,000, to construct a house for a poor Dalit
woman, Bandipelli Rajamma of Laxminarayanapuram village in Palakurthy mandal of
Jangaon district.
Came to know of his Good Samaritan
work, the Governor invited the SI, Satish, who is presently working at
Palakurthy Police Station, to the Raj Bhavan and handed over the cheque for Rs
80,000 which he had contributed for the construction of a house to Rajamma.
Pleasantly surprised by the noble
gesture of Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Sub Inspector stated that it was
one of the best moments of his life to be appreciated by the Governor and to be
invited to the Raj Bhavan.
The Governor also handed over a
special appreciation letter to the SI applauding his good initiative in
constructing a house for the 75-year-old Rajamma and her differently-abled son.
The Governor, while appreciating his
good work, stated that his gesture would inspire others to emulate him and take
up some noble works to help the needy.
