Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday called for a concrete health plan to reduce the deaths related to many preventable diseases.
She
said that it was important to have a time-bound action plan to realise the goal
of TB-Mukth Telangana State by the year 2024.
The
Governor was interacting with the eminent medical professionals on health
issues and initiatives at Raj Bhavan, here.
Dr.
Tamilisai Soundararajan exhorted the NGOs, activists, families, friends, and
all other members of the society to take part in the TB-Mukth Telangana
campaign and support the patients in their fight against the disease.
Highlighting
the importance of sustained initiatives to prevent the anaemia among the
vulnerable people including women and tribals, she stated that the consumption
of local made Mahualaddu, which is full of nutritional values, is one of the
effective solutions to prevent the malnutrition.
Referring
to the increasing number of breast cancer, she said that early detection and
massive promotion of diagnostic tests would help identify the cases and offer
effective treatment thus avoiding the high incidence of mortality.
Promoting
awareness, carrying out preventive tests, and maintaining cancer registries are
vital to manage the explosion of cases.
The
Governor also suggested the preventive and regular health checkups from the
school level to the university level were vital in identifying the
complications like the poor eyesight, cardio vascular diseases, and renal
failures and offering them effective treatment early.
Eminent
breast cancer specialist Dr. Raghu Ram, Devnar school for the visually
challenged founder Dr. Sai Baba Goud, TB specialist Dr. Sudheer Prasad, and
Ravi Helios founder Dr. Vijay BhaskarGoud were among those who interacted with
the Governor on health initiatives.
Dr.
Raghu Ram submitted a detailed roadmap to the Governor highlighting the prevention
and fight against the breast cancer in the State.
