Speakers Hail Veturi as Crusader of Annamaiah Sankeertan Literature










Acharya Venkateswarlu, Director of the Oriental Research Institute of SV University, hailed TTD legend Sri Veturi Prabhakara Sastri as a great crusader of the Sankirtana literature of Sri Tallapaka Annamayya, glorifying Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy and presented it to the future generations.


The 137th birth anniversary of Sri Veturi Prabhakara Sastri was celebrated on Friday in a grand manner under the auspices of Sri Venkateswara Oriental College. With a literary conference on the theme of Sri Veturi's contributions in bringing out Annamacharya sankeertans.

Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Venkateswarlu said that Sri Prabhakara Sastri worked to resolve the Sankirtans written by Annamayya on Tirumala Srivari and spread the glory of Sri Venkateswara Swamy worldwide. 

Among others, Eminent literary figure Dr Rajasekhar and TTD Annamacharya Project Director Sri Rajagopala Rao paid profound tributes to the contributions of Sri Veturi and suggested that students should take advantage of such conferences and turn them into research topics.

TTD Annamacharya Project Directors Sri Rajagopala Rao, Sri Gouripeddi Shankara Bhagavatpadu and others garlanded the statue of Sri Prabhakara Shastri located opposite  Sweta Bhavan this morning and paid homage. The scholars also paid floral tributes to the statue of Sri Venturi

The program was presided over by the college principal, Dr. Seetharama Rao. Faculty and students participated.
