Earlier floral tributes will be offered to the statue of Sri Rallapalli Ananthakrishna Sharma in the premises of Sri Padmavati Mahila Degree and PG College.

Legend

Sri Rallapalli Ananthakrishna Sharma was born on January 23, 1893, in Rallapalli village of Anantapur district. He served as a Telugu professor at the Maharaja's College, Mysore for 38 years. He was the one who named the radio ''Akasavani''.

Recognizing his talent, the then TTD EO Sri Chelikani Anna Rao entrusted him with the responsibility of the Sri Venkateswara Oriental Research Institute in 1949. He was already entrusted with the responsibility of deciphering the Sankirtans that had already been illuminated from the Tallapaka inscriptions in the Tirumala Srivari Temple. He deciphered the Sankirtans from copper plates and compiled them into a book, and also choreographed a few hundred Sankirtans. Sri Ananthakrishna Sharma was appointed as the TTD Asthana Vidvans on March 11, 1979.
