Rajamata of Mysore Donates the Largesse

Two giant Silver Akhandams (huge lamps) were donated by Rajamata Sri Pramoda Devi of Mysore to Tirumala Temple on Monday.

These Akhandams are the traditional giant lamps which are being lit inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Several centuries ago(over 300 years) the Raja of Mysore had donated these Akhandams. The weight of each Silver Akhandam is about 50Kilos.

These were donated at Ranganayakula Mandapam in Tirumala temple. The TTD Chairman Sri BR Naidu, Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary were present.
