Sacred Pavithortsavams Commence Grandly at Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Vari Temple - Chandragiri

The annual Pavithrotsavam festival began with religious fervor and traditional grandeur at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Chandragiri on Sunday. As per Agama traditions, the Pavithrotsavam is performed every year to purify the temple premises and rectify any ritualistic lapses or omissions that might have occurred during various festivals and daily rituals throughout the year.

The rituals began with Suprabhata Seva, followed by Sahasranamarchana. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Chatushtarchana and Pavitra Pratishtha were conducted. Later, the processional deities of Sri Sita, Rama, and Lakshmana Swamy were taken on a circumambulatory procession (Vimana Pradakshina) and placed in the Yagashala for further rituals. Vedic ceremonies and Pavitra Pratishtha were performed in the Yagashala. In the evening, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Pavitra Homas were conducted with devotion.

Temple Superintendent Sri Gnanaprakash, Temple Inspector Sri Muni Haribabu, and a large number of devotees participated in the sacred event.
