Annual Visesha Pooja at Tirumala Temple on 23rd January

On the auspicious occasion of Vasantha Panchami, the annual Visesha Puja will be performed at the Srivari temple in Tirumala on January 23.

Previously, the Visehsa Puja was performed every Monday as a weekly Arjita Seva at the Srivari temple.  

However, based on the suggestions of the Jeeyangars, priests, and Agama scholars, to prevent wear and tear of the processional deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy, Sridevi Bhudevi  and to preserve them for future generations, TTD had decided to perform the Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra Kalasabhishekam, and the Visesha Puja only as an annual fete.

Accordingly, TTD performs this annual special puja in Ekantam (pilgrims are not allowed) as  Sarkar in a year on the day of Vasantha Panchami.
