The TTD Joint Executive Officer for (Health & Education) Dr. A. Sarath has instructed the officials concerned to prepare a detailed progress chart pertaining to the children undergoing training depicting various stages of development at the TTD run Sravanam Project for the hearing impaired.
On Wednesday, Dr. Sarath inspected the Sravanam premises along with the officials.
Speaking on the occasion, he suggested that children with hearing impairment should be video recorded at the time of admission, during different stages of training, and after completion of training. These videos should be provided to the parents/guardians, which would give them greater happiness and satisfaction to visualize the improvement of their children.
He also directed that boards be displayed within the Sravanam campus clearly showing the different stages of progress achieved by children in the age group of 0–5 years during training.
Stating that the Sravanam institution is functioning with the blessings of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, he emphasized the need to provide more specialized training using modern methods.
He further said that steps are being taken to provide improved facilities as per the directions of TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu and TTD Executive Officer Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.
Earlier, Dr. Sarath reviewed the training processes, arrangements, and facilities provided to children at Sravanam.
He interacted with the children undergoing training and closely observed the teaching methods being adopted and offered several suggestions to the teachers and advised them to impart training in simpler and more effective methods.
Later, he held a meeting with the mothers of the children and enquired about improvements in speech articulation and comprehension skills after joining Sravanam.
The mothers expressed immense satisfaction at the training.
On the occasion, Dr. Sarath also instructed officials to ensure modern amenities in classrooms.
TTD DEO Sri T. Venkata Sunilu briefed the JEO on various aspects such as provision of mid-day meals for day scholar children, supply of advanced hearing aids after completion of training, improved teaching aids and methodologies, stationery, study material, syllabus, and other related facilities.
SEs Sri Venkateswarulu, Sri Manoharam, Additional Health Officer Dr. Sunil, Sravanam Project AEO Smt. Ammulu, DE Smt Saraswathi, staff, and employees were present during the programme.
