On the fifth day of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kapileswara Swamy in Tirupati, Sri Somaskanda Murthy blessed devotees on the sacred Adhikara Nandi Vahanam on Thursday night.
Amidst devotional fervour marked by bhajan mandalis, kolatam performances and mangala vadyams, the Vahana Seva was taken out in a grand and colourful manner through the temple streets. The procession commenced from the temple and passed through Kapilatheertham Road, Annarao Circle, Vinayaka Nagar Quarters, Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple, NGO Colony and Alipiri Bypass Road before returning to the temple. Devotees offered camphor harathis at various points along the route.
Among the various Vahana Sevas of Sri Kapileswara Swamy, the Adhikara Nandi holds special significance. Also known as Kailasa Nandi, it represents the divine vehicle of Lord Shiva in Kailasa. Adorned with decorative garlands around the neck, anklets on the legs and golden horns, Nandi is described as the eternal vahana of Lord Shiva.
Temple Superintendent Sri Chandrasekhar, temple priests and a large number of devotees participated in the event.
