Tens of thousands of devotees visit Tirumala every day for the darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.
Keeping in view the health safety of pilgrims, TTD has been providing extensive medical facilities to ensure immediate treatment whenever required.
Medical Services through 16 Centres
A total of 16 medical centres are functioning for devotees in Tirumala. The Ashwini Hospital serves as the main hospital, supported by the Apollo Cardiac Centre. Round-the-clock (24x7) medical services are available at medical centres located opposite Compartment-6 in Vaikuntham Queue Complex, near the Integrated AI Command Control Centre in VQC-1, Kalyanakatta, ATC Circle, PAC-5, Srivari Temple, the 1500th step on Alipiri footpath, Galigopuram, and at Narayanagiri sheds during rush periods.
Medical centres at Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex, PAC-2, Alipiri Padala Mandapam, Seventh Mile, Bhashyakarula Sannidhi, and during heavy rush at Silathoranam and Seva Sadan provide services from 8 AM to 8 PM. Medical services at the 1200th step along the Srivari Mettu Footpath route are available from 6 AM to 6 PM.
During Brahmotsavams, two additional medical centres are set up at Ram Bagicha-1 and Papavinasanam. Mobile First Aid Centres also provide medical assistance to the devotees.
Nine Ambulances :
A total of nine ambulances are available in Tirumala for emergency services, including three operated by TTD, five 108 ambulances and one by Apollo.
Two ambulances and one Apollo ambulance are stationed at Ashwini Hospital. Other ambulances are positioned at VQC-2 Medical Centre, Ram Bagicha Rest House opposite the Tirumala temple, ATC, Alipiri Check Point, Link Road on Second Ghat Road(Up Ghat), and the 35th turning on First Ghat Road(Down Ghat).
Devotees seeking emergency treatment are first shifted to Ashwini Hospital. Those in need of advanced treatment are transported free of cost to SVRR (Ruia), BIRRD, SVIMS and Government Maternity Hospital in Tirupati.
Additional ambulances are deployed during Brahmotsavams and Ratha Saptami, including one following the Vahana Sevas and another at Narayanagiri sheds.
Uninterrupted Services with 128 Staff
Medical services are provided round the clock by eight doctors and 120 paramedical staff.
On an average, around 2,400 devotees avail medical services every day at all centres in Tirumala.
All types of Medical Services available
Comprehensive medical services are available for devotees, including ECG, X-ray, laboratory services, nebulisation, oxygen support and dressing facilities at Ashwini Hospital.
For specialised treatment, needy are shifted to major hospitals in Tirupati.
