As part of the annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati, on the third day (Thursday), cultural programmes featuring music and dance were held at the temple premises, captivating the devotees.
On this occasion, from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM, the music ensemble led by Dr. Manda Ananthakrishna, faculty of SV College of Music and Dance, rendered melodious compositions such as “Pibare Ramarasam,” “Adamodi Galada,” “Raghuvamsa Sudhambudhi,” “E Teeruga Nanu,” “Karunajaladhe,” and Meera Bhajans, enthralling the audience.
Later, from 7:15 PM to 8:30 PM, a Bharatanatyam dance performance was presented by the troupe led by Sri C. Harinath, faculty of SV College of Music and Dance. The artists performed items including “Meluko Vayya,” “Sharanu Sharanu Neeku,” “Perigi Naadu Chudaro,” “Deva Dundubhulu Toda,” “Eruta Evvaru Leru,” “Amba Shambhavi,” “Vasudeva Kamalasana,” “Kurai Ondrum Illai,” “Choodaramma Chelurala,” “Shivaranjani,” and “Tillana,” delighting the devotees.
These cultural programmes added spiritual charm and vibrancy to the Brahmotsavam festivities.
Swara Sangamam-A devotional musical fiesta organised on Nada Neerajanam platform in Tirumala on pleasant evening of Thursday, immersed devotees in musical waves.
The unique Program named as Swara Sangamam, a musical confluence, featured on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi festival, mused devotees.
Renowned artistes including Padmasri Drums Sivamani, Padmasri Dr Shankar Mahadevan, Renowned for his unique style in classical music, pop, and fusion, bringing special flair to drum rhythms.Padma Shri Dr. Shankar Mahadevan, accompanied by Sri B.V. Balasai on Flute, on Mandolin Sri Rajesh, on Violin Sri Embar Kannan, on Tabla Sri Praveen Narayanan, on Keyboard Sri Shashwin Alwar provided a mesmerizing performance that echoed in entire Tirumala.
The scintillating instrumental ragas blended with Shankar Mahadevan's melodic vocals provided a feast to the ears of Music lovers.
TTD Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary felicitated the artistes. Incharge CEO SVBC Sri Venkateswarlu was also present.
Srivari Seva Volunteers besides rendering selfless services to devotees also should provide feedback for the betterment of devotees facilities, asserted TTD EO Sri Muddada Ravichandra.
During his maiden visit to Srivari Seva Sadan 2 in Tirumala on Thursday, the EO extended Ugadi Greetings to all the Sevaks.
Later he interacted with the Sevaks and received their feedback on the improvement of Annaprasadam, Sanitation, Queue line management and various other issues.
Later he called on the Sevaks to provide feedback since they render services to the multitude of devotees and better know their problems if any.
''Your feedback will act as a catalyst in bringing several reforms in pilgrim facilities and stream lining the system, he maintained.
Earlier, the EO also visited the reception, verification, registration counters in Seva Sadan 2 and also inspected the Halls to oversee the facilities being provided to Srivari Sevaks.
Later he also interacted with some Sevaks who expressed their satisfaction at the amenities being provided to them in Seva Sadans.
TTD Chief PRO Dr T Ravi and other Srivari Seva Office staff were also present.
Ugadi celebrations were held grandly on Thursday at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati under the joint auspices of TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and the Welfare Department.
On this occasion, TTD Panchanga Expert Vedantam Sri Vishnu Bhattacharyulu, delivered the Panchanga Sravanam. He explained that Panchangam involves understanding the five elements—Tithi (lunar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (star), Yoga, and Karana. He stated that in ancient times, kings used to listen to the Panchangam daily and that doing so yields great spiritual merit. He emphasized that serving Lord Venkateswara with devotion brings all auspicious results and expressed hope that the country would achieve progress in all sectors. He also explained the yearly predictions for different zodiac signs. Later, he was honored with Srivari Prasadam and new clothes.
Subsequently, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, a Kavi Sammelan (poets’ meet) was conducted under the leadership of retired SV University professor Acharya Damodar Naidu.
Earlier, faculty and students of SV Music College presented Mangala Dhwani and prayers melodiously. Later, Vedic scholars conducted Veda Svasthi under the auspices of SV Higher Vedic Studies Institute. Ugadi Pachadi and prasadam were distributed to all attendees. The cultural programs आयोजित on the occasion were impressive.
DPP Secretary Sri Raghunath, Welfare Department Deputy EO Sri Anandaraju, other officials, staff, and members of the public participated in the event.
