TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu stated that SVIMS, established by Late sri N.T. Rama Rao to offer free and quality healthcare to the poor, is being developed as one of the best medical institutions in India. TTD is allocating Rs. 140 crore annually for its development.
On Thursday, the Chairman inaugurated state-of-the-art MRI and CT scan equipment at SVIMS. These advanced medical devices, worth Rs. 22.01 crore, were donated by Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) under its CSR initiative. The machines include 3 Tesla MRI Scanner (MAGNETOM Vida) worth Rs. 14 crore, 4D CT Simulator System (SOMATOM go. Sim) worth Rs. 8 crore, used in radiotherapy.
These technologies are first of their kind in Rayalaseema, enabling precise cancer detection and brain scans with minimal side effects. Over 2.5 lakh patients annually will benefit from affordable treatment.
IOCL Marketing Director Sri Satish Kumar said the equipment donation is part of their social responsibility and expressed interest in future collaborations. SVIMS Director Dr. R.V. Kumar highlighted that SVIMS is delivering quality free healthcare under TTD and offering top-notch medical education he added . Later a video message of Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sri Hardeep Singh Puri, praising IOCL’s donation to SVIMS was played.
