TTD Chiarman Condemns the Malicious Propaganda by former TTD Board Chief Against TTD

The TTD Chairman Sri BR Naidu while seriously condemning the allegations made by former TTD Chairman Sri B Karunakara Reddy over the TTD land alloted to Tourism department terming it as Malicious with vested interests and reiterated that the prime motto of the present TTD board is to safeguard the Sanctity and Serenity of Tirumala and TTD properties.

The TTD Trust board Chief along with the other Board Members Sri G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Sri Diwakar Reddy, Smt. Panabaka Lakshmi and TTD JEO Sri Veerabrahmam held a press conference in Sri Padmavati Rest House in Tirupati on Tuesday evening.

Some excerpts from the meeting:

We stand for protecting the sanctity of Tirumala. The lands located adjacent to Tirumala hills will not be encroached upon and that land will be used for the convenience of the devotee, the Chairman asserted.

In 2008, an MoU was signed to give 30.32 acres of tourism land to Devalok through PPP.  In 2011, Devalok was allotted through LOI by International Bidding Process, in 2012 the land was officially allotted, in 2013 Tourism and Devalok entered an agreement, in 2015 an environmental issue surfaced, In 2021 the Government of India gave Environment clearance.

The previous government had allotted 20 acres of land to Oberoi Hotel and another 5 acres to the Meda (private)Project.

Following this, during that time, several Hindu organizations had staged dharnas and protests against the allocation of land to Oberoi Hotel.

On 18.11. 2024, the present TTD board discussed the issue and passed a resolution that it was not appropriate to give it to Oberoi Hotel and sent it to the state government.

The Honourable Chief Minister of AP Sri Chandrababu visited Tirumala on March 21, discussed the issue and decided to take a total of 50 acres of land along with the 25 acres.

The AP CM himself had convinced the Oberoi Hotel after a lengthy negotiations and made them agree to allocate land on the other side of the road.

By that time the Oberoi Hotel have already spent Rs. 30 crores on construction. However with the intervention of AP CM inspite of his busy schedule made them agree to  transfer the land back to TTD.

When the facts are like this, the Chairman expressed that some people are deliberately criticizing them every day

TTD Chairman Sri BR Naidu countered the malicious propaganda by these vested interests and questioned whether the tourism land was allotted to Oberoi Hotel during previous government tenure or not.

The previous government encouraged allotment of TTD lands to private individuals. Had TTD lands not been given to private individuals during your rule, this problem would not have existed today, he asserted.

They did all the mistakes and are now seeking a CBI inquiry into the issue, he ridiculed.

They also threatened the owner Devalok Sri Ajay Kumar and took possession of the said land during their tenure.

The Chairman said in the latest development to protect the Sanctity of Tirumala, the present TTD board has taken a decision to allocate the land opposite the road to the tourism department. And also sent a proposal to State Government for approval and the related file is under process.

While the facts are like this, the former TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is distorting the matter every day.

TTD board members Sri Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Sri Diwakar Reddy Smt Panabaka Lakshmi also refuted the charges made by the opposition parties that since there are not even a single incidence of misappropriation in the last one and a half years in their tenure, the opposition is yielding to such mud slinging activities and playing dirty Politics with the divinity. They also said unless the opposition puts an end to such malicious propaganda they will have to face serious consequences in the Court of Almighty.

They reiterated that their board is committed to offer best possible services to pilgrims under the Chairmanship of Sri BR Naidu.
