TTD has condemned the allegations by Bhumana Karunakar Reddy as incorrect.
During the previous Government's tenure, on November 24, 2021, the Tourism Department allotted 20 acres of land to the Oberoi Hotel in the land located at Alipiri.
Ever since it came to light, the Hindu groups, Swamijis, and devotees have been raising objections on a large scale as the entire land at the foothill is considered sacred.
In this context, in the TTD Board meeting held on November 18, 2024, as per Resolution No. 102, it was reported to the government that the sacred land should not be allotted to the Oberoi Hotel but should be allotted to the TTD.
In this context, the Honourable Chief Minister of the AP, Sri N Chandrababu Naidu, during his visit to Tirumala on March 21st this year, said that no other activities will be permitted in the region located in the entire premises of the sacred seven hills.
In this context, the Tourism Department agreed to give the land located adjacent on the North side to TTD and requested that the land on the other side of the road be allotted in exchange.
In this regard, in the TTD board meeting held on May 7, 2025, as per Resolution No. 250, a letter was written by the TTD to State government expressing its consent to transfer the land.
In this regard, during the TTD Board meeting held on July 22, 2025, as per resolution no. 385 the board approved to transfer the TTD land located on the south side of the road to the Tourism Department in exchange of the land alloted to TTD by Tourism on North Side.
With the aim of preserving the sanctity of Tirumala, TTD has decided to utilize this sacred land located on the North side of the road for the provision of facilities for devotees, keeping in mind the future needs.
It is known that several constructions have already been done on the South side of the Alipiri-Cherlopalli road.
Due to this, the land located on the South side was allocated to the Tourism Department and the sacred land located on the North side adjacent to the Tirumala hill was taken by TTD as the area on the North side of the Alipiri road adjacent to the Tirumala hill is crucial for TTD in view of the sanctity and security of Tirumala.
Given the facts, it is not appropriate to make allegations on this issue which is linked to the sentiments of devotees.
