As per Agama Traditions Ankurarpana was performed in a traditional and religious manner on Sunday night, marking the commencement of the Brahmotsavams of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Devuni Kadapa.
Earlier in the morning, the Lord was awakened with Suprabhata Seva, followed by Thomala Seva and Sahasranamarchana. In the evening, from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m., rituals including Senaadhipathi Utsavam, Medini Pooja, Mrutsangrahanam and Ankurarpana were conducted as per Agama Shastras.
Temple officials, archakas and devotees participated in the programme.
Dhwajarohanam on January 19
The Brahmotsavams will commence in a grand manner with Dhwajarohanam on Monday, January 19, between 10.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.
As part of the ritual, Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy, the Goddess, Dhwaja Patam and Chakrathalwar will be taken in a procession along the mada streets in the morning. Later, Dhwajarohanam will be performed in the presence of the presiding deity Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy.
