Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam Performed at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Vari Temple






Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam was performed as per temple traditions at the Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati on Monday morning in view of the Ugadi Asthanam festival to be observed on March 19.


As part of the ritual, the Lord was awakened with Suprabhatam in the early hours, followed by Thomala Seva and Sahasranamarchana. Later, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., the temple premises including the sanctum of Sri Govindaraja Swamy, Sri Parthasarathi Swamy, Sri Andal Ammavaru, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy, and Sri Pundarikavalli Ammavaru were thoroughly cleaned.


After cleansing the temple premises, holy water mixed with fragrant ingredients such as Namakoppu, Srichurnam, kasturi turmeric, pachhaaku, camphor, sandalwood powder, kumkum and other sacred materials was sprinkled throughout the temple.

Devotees were allowed for Sarva Darshan from 9:30 a.m.


Temple Deputy Executive Officer Smt. Shanthi, AEO Sri Narayana Chowdary, Superintendent Sri Chiranjeevi, along with the temple priests, participated in the programme.
