As part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati, the processional deity Lord Sri Kodandarama took a celestial ride on the **Chinna Sesha Vahanam** (Small Serpent Vehicle) on Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM, blessing the gathered devotees.
The vahanam procession was held in a grand manner amidst the rhythmic beats of traditional music ('Mangala Vaidyams'). Elephants led the procession while various cultural troupes performed 'Chekka Bhajans' and 'Kolatam' in praise of the Lord. Devotees at every step offered 'Karpura Harathi' and sought the divine blessings of the deity.
Spiritual Significance:
In the journey toward attaining 'Kaivalya Jnana' (supreme liberation), the awakening of 'Kundalini Shakti' is considered paramount. This Kundalini energy is symbolically represented in the form of a serpent. The Chinna Sesha Vahanam signifies this awakening of spiritual energy required to merge with the Divine.
Snapana Tirumanjanam:
Following the procession, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, **Snapana Tirumanjanam** (sacred celestial bath) was performed ceremoniously for the processional deities of Lord Sri Kodandarama, Goddess Sita, and Lakshmana at the Kalyanmandapam. The deities were anointed with milk, curd, honey, turmeric, sandalwood, and coconut water as per Vedic traditions.
Tirumala Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, AEO Sri Ravi, Temple Inspector Suresh, and a large number of devotees.
