As part of the annual Brahmotsavams at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, on the fifth day Tuesday night, Lord Sri Sita Rama Lakshmana blessed devotees while mounted on the Garuda Vahanam.
The Vahana Seva commenced at 7:00 PM and was held in a grand and devotional atmosphere. Accompanied by Kerala drums, bhajan groups, chekka bhajans, and kolatam performances, the procession of the Lord moved magnificently amidst traditional mangala vadyams. Devotees offered camphor harati at every step and had darshan of the Lord with deep devotion.
Garuda, also known as Vainateya, is the eternal vehicle of Lord Maha Vishnu. As one of the foremost among the Nitya Suris, Garuda renders multifaceted services to the Lord—as a servant, companion, fan-bearer, umbrella, seat, abode, vehicle, and even as a flag. The sight of Garuda carrying Lord Kodandarama is truly divine and captivating. Garuda Seva holds special significance in all the 108 Divya Desams.
Deputy EOs Smt. Prasanthi and Sri Sivaprasad, Temple Inspector Sri Naveen, and others participated in the programme.
