ANNAMAYYA’S HONEYED LYRICS PRAISE ALAMELMANGA: SMT NAGAPADMINI

 

Smt. Nagapadmini from Hyderabad said that the compositions of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya beautifully portray the emotions of divine love with sweet devotion. The second day of literary seminars, as part of Annamayya’s 618th Jayanthi celebrations, was held at Annamacharya Kalamandiram on Monday.

Presiding over the session, she spoke on “Annamayya’s portrayal of Alamelmanga” and highlighted the depth and beauty of his sringara sankeertanas.

Dr. Amudala Murali explained Annamayya’s Advaita philosophy, while Dr. Shaik Shawali spoke on Navavidha Bhakti in the compositions of Annamayya and Surdas.

Dr. Medasani Mohan, Special Officer of Annamacharya Project, Director Smt. Latha, officials and a large number of devotees attended.

Devotional music and dance programmes were held in the evening. At Mahati Kalakshetram, music by Smt. Sushila troupe and a dance performance by Sri Padma Kalakshetra Dance Academy are scheduled.
