Teppakolam Set Up Spruced Up for The First Time




Sri Padmavati Parinayotsava Mandapam spruced up for the first time with "Teppakolam" set up to host the three day celestial wedding ceremony of Sri Srinivasa Padmavathi Parinayotsavam which will begin with splendour from Friday at Narayanagiri Gardens in Tirumala.


Every year, TTD observes this divine wedding ceremony for three days in a grand manner by making splendid arrangements, especially to the Mandapam where the celestial marriage of Sridevi Bhudevi sameta Sri Malayappa Swamy is usually celebrated. So far the Garden wing of TTD has set up decorations like, Turmeric-Kunkuma Mandapam, Glass Mandapam, Colour stone Mandapam, Ashtalakshmi Mandapam, Dasavatara Mandapam to impress the devotees. 

For the first time, TTD has erected Teppakolam Mandapam also known as Teppakulam meaning temple tank in the famous ancient temples of Tamilnadu and Kerala states. Besides, the Mandapam is decorated with 15 varieties of 50 thousand cut flowers, two tons of traditional flowers like lilium, roses, crysanthimum etc. The dioramas of Chinni Krishna with Butterball, elephants, horses, musical instruments etc.

According to TTD Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu, Sri Venkateswara Charitable Trust from Pune has come forward and contributed for the decoration as in previous years. About 50 Gardeners from TTD and 150 Decors from Bengaluru have worked day and night from the last few days, to spruce up the splendid set up.

Dhwajarohanam Marks the Commencement of Sri Govinda Raja Swamy Vari Temle Annual Fete













The annual Brahmotsavam of Tirupati Sri Govindarajaswamy began in grand style on Thursday with the hoisting of Garuda Dhwajapatham between 8.15 am to 8.40 am in the auspicious Mithuna lagnam amidst chanting of Mantras by Vedic scholars, musical instruments followed by Asthanam.


Earlier Sri Govindarajaswamy, Garuda Dhwajapatam, Chakratthalwar and Parivara deities roamed all along the four Mada streets on the golden Tiruchi. In the morning, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the Utsava deities.

Both the senior and junior pontiffs of Tirumala temple, FACAO Sri Balaji, CE Sri Nageswara Rao, SE 2 Sri Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Agama Advisor Sri Seetaramacharyulu, DyEO Smt Shanti, Kankanabhattar Sri Narayana Dikshitulu, Superintendent Sri Mohan Rao, others, devotees participated.

Sita Jayanthi at Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy Vari Temple on 17th May




Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple will celebrate Sita Jayanthi on May 17. 


On Friday morning the Lord is awakened with Suprabhata Seva and Tirumanjanam is performed for the Utsava deities. After that, Vyasabhisheka, Aradhana and Archana will be performed to the Moolavarulu.

As part of the festivity, the Ranga Mandapam of the temple will be decorated beautifully and the idols of Sri Sita Rama Lakshmana will be offered on a special platform. Afterwards, Viswaksena Puja, Vasudeva Punyahavachanam, Aradhana, are performed. "Vasantika Pooja"- Sahasranama Archana with jasmine flowers will be performed for Seethamma Varu specially on the occasion.

Importance:

Sri Ramachandra Murthy was born on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra month. A month later, Sri Mahalakshmi's incarnation, Sita Devi appeared on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaisakha.

According to the inscriptions found in the temple, since the 11th century, the celebration of Sita Jayanti on this day has become a tradition.
