Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley inaugurated Symbiosis International University, Hyderabad campus
Hyderabad: Symbiosis International University's (SIU) Hyderabad campus was inaugurated by Hon'ble Shri Arun Jaitley, the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India here on Sunday.
Headquartered in Pune, SIU has its off campus centres in Nashik, Noida and Bengaluru - Hyderabad being the latest addition.
Hon'ble Shri K T Rama Rao, Minister for Information Technology, Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana and Shri A P Jithender Reddy, Member of Parliament, Mahabubnagar were the Guests of Honour.
Padma Bhushan Dr. S B Mujumdar, Chancellor, SIU, presided over the function. Dr. Mujumdar said that the equation of E= F will change the shape of the world, where E stands for Education and F for Future. Thus India must come up with more institutes imparting quality education that would instill a bright future among young Indians. Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, SIU and Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director, Symbiosis also graced the occasion.
Shri Arun Jaitley,applauded the Symbiosis' move to establish a new campus in Hyderabad. He said, "It is great step by Symbiosis to set up an educational institute in Telangana, near IT hub Hyderabad."As there are 45 disciplines in Pune campus,he wished the same to be implemented here in SIU Hyderabad. He also stressed on the point that it is extremely important to the institute like Symbiosis that created its own brand and stood by its methodology that ones who are willing to acquire the knowledge would not be deprived of the opportunity. He advised the student snot to settle for mediocrity and strive for excellence.
K T Rama Rao, Minister for Information and Technology, Government of Telangana inaugurated the Hyderabad Chapter of Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SCEI). SCEI has been set up to promote entrepreneurship and foster innovation among the youth of India.
Rama Rao also appealed students to adopt new age mantra of Innovate ,Incubate and Incorporate. He stressed on competing globally instead of locally.
The Hyderabad off-campus centre is a residential campus measuring 6 lakhs sq.ft.and is spread over 40 acres of land. It houses academic buildings, library, hostels for students, residential facilities for teaching and non-teaching staff, auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000, recreation and wellness centre and sports facilities.
This has two institutes, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) and Symbiosis Law School (SLS) offering the MBA, BBA, LL.B, BA, LLB programmes respectively.

The University (SIU) offers a total of 107 programs at Diploma, Undergraduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral levels under the faculties of Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health and Biomedical Sciences, Media, Communication and Design, Humanities and Social Sciences and Engineering. SIU has recently been re-accredited by NAAC with Grade 'A' and CGPA of 3.58 on a four point scale.
