Grand Rathotsavam of Sri Kodanda Rama Swmay Celebrated with Splendour Temple Streets Echo with Chanting of Rama Nama

As part of the annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodandarama Swamy in Tirupati, the Rathotsavam (chariot festival) was held in a grand manner on Tuesday morning, marking the eighth day of the festivities.

At around 8:30 AM, Lord Sri Kodandarama Swamy, along with Sita and Lakshmana, mounted the temple chariot and was taken in a procession through the four Mada streets.

The temple streets reverberated with the chanting of “Rama Nama” by devotees. Accompanied by traditional drum beats, bhajan groups, and folk performances like kolatam, devotees enthusiastically pulled the chariot with deep devotion. At every step, devotees offered camphor harathi. After completing the procession through the four Mada streets, the chariot returned to its original place, followed by Prabandham recitation, Vedic chanting (Sattumora), and final harathi.

The Rathotsavam holds deep spiritual significance. It symbolizes the human body as a chariot: the soul as the rider, the body as the chariot, intellect as the charioteer, mind as the reins, senses as the horses, and worldly objects as the paths. This analogy imparts the philosophical understanding of the distinction between the soul (Atma) and the body (Anatma), thereby enlightening devotees with spiritual wisdom.

In the afternoon, Tirumanjanam and Asthanam will be conducted by the temple priests between 3 PM and 4 PM. Later in the evening, the Ashwa Vahana Seva will be অনুষ্ঠিত from 7 PM to 8:30 PM.

Among those present were Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, TTD Board Member Sri G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, Superintendent Sri Munishankar, Temple Inspector Sri Suresh, engineering officials, and a large number of devotees.

As part of the Brahmotsavams, Chakrasnanam will be performed at Kapila Teertham on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

భక్తులు అడుగడుగునా కర్పూరహారతులు సమర్పించి స్వామివారిని దర్శించుకున్నారు.

ఉపనిషత్తులు ఇంద్రియాలను గుర్రాలుగా వర్ణిస్తున్నాయి. అందువల్ల అశ్వాన్ని అధిరోహించిన పరమాత్మ ఇంద్రియాలను నియమించే నియామకుడు. పరమాత్మను అశ్వస్వరూపంగా కృష్ణయజుర్వేదం తెలియజేసింది. స్వామి అశ్వ వాహనాధిరూఢడై భక్తులకు దర్శనమిచ్చి తద్వారా తన కల్కి స్వరూపాన్ని ప్రకటిస్తూ కలిదోషాలకు దూరంగా ఉండమని నామ సంకీర్తనాద్యుపాయాలను ఆశ్రయించి తరించమని ప్రబోధిస్తున్నాడు.

తిరుపతి శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి వార్షిక బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో భాగంగా ఎనిమిదో రోజు మంగళవారం ఉదయం స్వామివారి రథోత్సవం అంగరంగ వైభవంగా జరిగింది.

ఉదయం 8.30 గంటలకు శ్రీ సీతా–లక్ష్మణ సమేత శ్రీ కోదండరాములవారు రథాన్ని అధిష్టించి నాలుగు మాడ వీధుల్లో విహరించారు. 

భక్తుల రామనామ స్మరణతో తిరుపతి తిరువీధులు మార్మోగాయి.

డప్పు వాయిద్యాలు, భజన బృందాలు కోలాటాలు ఆడుతుండగా భక్తులు భక్తి భావంతో రథాన్ని లాగారు. అడుగడుగునా భక్తులు కర్పూర నీరాజనాలు సమర్పించారు. రథం నాలుగు మాడ వీధుల్లో ఊరేగి యథాస్థానానికి చేరిన అనంతరం ప్రబంధం, వేద శాత్తుమొర నిర్వహించి హారతి ఇచ్చారు.

రథోత్సవానికి ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక తాత్పర్యం ఉంది. ఆత్మ రథికుడు, శరీరమే రథం, బుద్ధి సారథి, మనస్సు పగ్గం, ఇంద్రియాలే గుర్రాలు, విషయాలే వీధులుగా భావిస్తారు. ఈ విధంగా శరీరాన్ని రథంతో పోల్చడం ద్వారా శరీరం వేరని, ఆత్మ భిన్నమని తెలియజేసే ఆత్మ–అనాత్మ వివేకం కలుగుతుంది. రథోత్సవం ద్వారా భక్తులకు ఈ తత్త్వజ్ఞానం తెలియజేయబడుతుంది.

మధ్యాహ్నం 3 గంటల నుండి సాయంత్రం 4 గంటల వరకు అర్చకులు తిరుమంజనం, ఆస్థానం నిర్వహించనున్నారు. రాత్రి 7 గంటల నుండి 8.30 గంటల వరకు అశ్వవాహన సేవ వేడుకగా జరగనుంది.

శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో భాగంగా బుధవారం ఉదయం 9 గంటల నుండి 10.30 గంటల వరకు కపిలతీర్థంలో చక్రస్నానం వైభవంగా నిర్వహించనున్నారు.

చంద్ర‌గిరి శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి ఆలయంలో మంగ‌ళ‌వారం కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం ఘ‌నంగా నిర్వహించారు. ఆలయంలో మార్చి 28 నుండి ఏప్రిల్ 6 వ‌ర‌కు బ్ర‌హ్మోత్స‌వాలు జ‌రుగ‌నున్న నేప‌థ్యంలో కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీ.

ఉదయం 9 నుండి 10 గంటల వరకు కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం జరిగింది. ఇందులో భాగంగా గర్భాలయం, శ్రీ ఆంజనేయస్వామి, శ్రీగరుత్మంతుని సన్నిధి, ఆలయ ప్రాంగణం, గోడలు, పైకప్పు, పూజాసామగ్రి తదితర అన్ని వస్తువులను నీటితో శుద్ధి చేశారు. అనంతరం నామకోపు, శ్రీచూర్ణం, కస్తూరి పసుపు, పచ్చాకు, గడ్డ కర్పూరం, గంధం పొడి, కుంకుమ, కిచీలీగడ్డ తదితర సుగంధ ద్రవ్యాలు కలగలిపిన పవిత్రజలాన్ని ఆలయం అంతటా ప్రోక్షణం చేశారు. అనంతరం భక్తులను దర్శనానికి అనుమతించారు.

 ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో  టెంపుల్ ఇన్స్పెక్టర్ శ్రీ దినేష్‌కుమార్‌, ఆలయ అర్చకులు, ఇతర అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

మార్చి 27న అంకురార్ప‌ణ‌

శ్రీ కోదండరాముని బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలకు మార్చి 27వ తేదీ సాయంత్రం 6 నుండి రాత్రి 7.30 గంటల వ‌ర‌కు ఘనంగా అంకురార్పణ జరుగనుంది. ఈ సందర్భంగా సేనాధిపతి ఉత్సవం, విష్వక్సేనారాధాన, పుణ్యాహవచనం, వాస్తు పూజ‌, అంకురార్ప‌ణ‌ నిర్వహిస్తారు.

మార్చి 28న‌ ధ్వజారోహణం :

మార్చి 28వ తేదీ ఉద‌యం 8 నుండి 8.45 గంట‌ల మ‌ధ్య ధ్వజారోహణం నిర్వహిస్తారు. మార్చి 31న‌ ఉద‌యం 10 నుండి 11 గంట‌ల వ‌ర‌కు శ్రీ సీతా ల‌క్ష్మ‌ణ స‌మేత శ్రీ కోదండ‌రామ‌స్వామివారికి స్న‌ప‌న తిరుమంజ‌నం నిర్వ‌హిస్తారు. ఏప్రిల్ 1న సాయంత్రం 6 నుండి రాత్రి 8 గంట‌ల వ‌ర‌కు హ‌నుమంత వాహ‌నంపై స్వామివారు విహ‌రించి భ‌క్తుల‌కు ద‌ర్శ‌నం ఇవ్వ‌నున్నారు.

ఏప్రిల్ 3వ తేదీ ఉద‌యం 10 నుండి 11.30 గంట‌ల వ‌ర‌కు శ్రీ సీతారాముల కల్యాణోత్సవం, సాయంత్రం 6 నుండి రాత్రి 8 గంటల వరకు గరుడ వాహనంపై స్వామివారు ఉరేగుతూ భక్తులను కటాక్షించనున్నారు. రూ.750/- చెల్లించి గృహస్తులు(ఇద్దరు) కల్యాణోత్సవంలో పాల్గొనవచ్చు.

 ఏప్రిల్ 5వ తేదీ ఉదయం 9.30 నుండి 11.30 గంట‌ల వ‌ర‌కు స్వామి, అమ్మ‌వార్ల ఉత్స‌ర్ల‌కు, చక్రత్తాళ్వార్‌కు స్న‌ప‌న తిరుమంజ‌నం, చ‌క్ర‌స్నానం నిర్వ‌హించ‌నున్నారు. సాయంత్రం 6 గంటలకు ధ్వజావరోహణముతో బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలు ముగుస్తాయి.  

 ఏప్రిల్ 6వ తేదీ ఉద‌యం 9 నుండి 10.30 గంటల వరకు శ్రీ రామపట్టభిషేకం వైభవంగా నిర్వహించనున్నారు. బ్ర‌హ్మోత్స‌వాల సంద‌ర్భంగా ప్ర‌తి రోజు సాయంత్రం 6 నుండి రాత్రి 7 గంట‌ల వ‌ర‌కు ఊంజ‌ల సేవ జ‌రుగ‌నుంది.

As part of the annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Tirupati, on the eighth day, Tuesday night, the Lord blessed devotees while riding on the Horse Vahana. The Vahana Seva began at 7 p.m.

Devotees offered camphor harati at every step and had darshan of the Lord.

The Upanishads describe the senses as horses. Therefore, the Supreme Being riding a horse symbolizes the controller of the senses. The Krishna Yajurveda reveals the Supreme Being in the form of a horse. By appearing on the Horse Vahana, the Lord proclaims His Kalki form, instructing devotees to keep away from the evils of Kali Yuga and to attain liberation through Nama Sankirtana and other spiritual practices.

In the Vahana Seva, Tirumala Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, Temple Inspector Sri Suresh, temple priests, and a large number of devotees participated.

Annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Pattabhirama Swamy Begins with Dhwajarohanam - Temple Resonates with Chanting of Rama Nama

The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Pattabhirama Swamy at Valmikipuram commenced in a grand manner on Tuesday morning with the ceremonial Dhwajarohanam (flag hoisting).

Under the supervision of Kankanabhattar Sri Krishna Prasad, the Dhwajarohanam ritual was performed as per tradition between 8:00 AM and 8:50 AM during the auspicious Mesha Lagnam. Priests offered special prayers to the ceremonial flag bearing the image of Garutmanta. Amid Vedic chanting and the devotional recitation of “Govinda” and “Rama Nama” by devotees, the sacred flag was hoisted atop the Dwajasthambam.

The priests explained that Dhwajarohanam signifies inviting all deities to the Brahmotsavams and is performed for the welfare of society and prosperity of families.

Earlier in the day, Suprabhatam was rendered at 4:00 AM. This was followed by Snapana Tirumanjanam (holy bath) to the Utsava deities from 5:30 AM, along with Alankaram, Thomala Seva, Koluvu, Panchanga Sravanam, and Archana. The abhishekam was performed using milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric, and sandalwood.

After Dhwajarohanam, Bheri Tadanam and Devata Ahwanam rituals were conducted at 9:00 AM. In the evening, the Gaja Vahana Seva is scheduled to take place at 8:00 PM.
