Pulse Polio in Tirumala-Polio Drops Administered to 5,255 Children




As part of the nationwide immunization campaign, the Pulse Polio program was launched at Srivari Temple on Sunday. TTD Additional EO Sri C.H. Venkaiah Chowdary inaugurated the drive by administering polio drops to children.


Under the supervision of TTD Chief Medical Officer Dr. S. Kusuma Kumari, 25 Pulse Polio centers were set up across Tirumala. Among these, 21 centers (including the one at the Srivari Temple) were established for devotees, and 4 centers were designated for local residents. The drive was held from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, administering polio drops to children under the age of 5.


The Pulse Polio immunization centers were set up at key locations including Aswini Hospital, GNC, RTC Bus Stand, CRO, PAC 1 and 2, MBC-34, Vaikuntam 1 and 2, Health Office, ATC, Medaramitta, Varahaswamy Temple, Rambhageecha Guest House, inside Srivari Temple, Kalyanakatta, Balaji Nagar, TTD Employees Dispensary, S.V. High School, Papavinasam, and the Alipiri footpath. A total of 5,255 children received polio drops across all the centers.


The program was attended by In-charge Superintendent Dr. Kalyani, SMO Dr. Suharlata, Doctors Dr. Naveen and Dr. Padmaja, Head Nurse Smt. Pushpalata, and other paramedical staff.
