Tencteplase Injection for Devotees Facilitation in Tirumala - TTD Addl Eo

 In yet another pilgrim caring move, TTD has unveiled Tencteplase injection that prevents cardiac arrests and acts as a life saviour.

The TTD Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy released the critical drug at the Primary Health Centre near Ram Bagicha Rest House in Tirumala on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion the Additional EO said as per doctors' the medicine provides instant relief to patients suffering from blood clots caused by cardiac arrests.


He said this life-saving drug project has been approved by ICMR only for the Ruia Hospital in entire south India. With Tirupati as headquarters, the crucial drug will be supplied to 13 regional hospitals around.


While these injections cost nearly Rs.35,000- Rs. 40,000 each in the open market, they are now freely made available by TTD for emergency treatment of needy devotees.


He said since the majority of devotees coming to Tirumala on foot are often subjected to heart attack threats, this drug will be of great use to such pilgrims. TTD in collaboration with the Apollo hospital has set up a special cardiac centre at Tirumala in addition to the availability of crucial medicine at the Ruia Hospital.


He expressed thanks to doctors of SV Medical College and Ruia Hospital for providing infrastructure for the new project and sought the Apollo hospital to provide training to the medical staff at Aswini hospital in Tirumala.


Dr Jaya Bhaskar, Principal SV Medical College Tirupati, said nine hospitals in the country have been sanctioned with the injection by the ICMR. The Ruia Hospital will supply these injections to selected PHCs and CHCs within 100 kms of Tirupati.


She said providing this injection within 2-3 hours of reaching hospitals will help in curing blot clots from happening and resume blood circulation before commencing regular treatment as acts as a saviour of life.


Dr Bharati, Medical Superintendent of Ruia Hospital TTD CMO Dr R.V.S Muralidhar, Cardiology Professor Dr Muniswar Reddy, SMO Dr AV Narmada, Ashwini Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr S Kusuma Kumari, and others were present.

Ayurveda Arogya Campaign by Sri Venkateswara Ayurveda College

s a part of Azadi ka Amruta Mahotsav, a clarion call was given by the Ministry of Ayush in connection with the 75th Anniversary Celebrations of Indian Independence, the TTD-run SV Ayurveda College has organised the Ayurveda-Arogya awareness campaign in Tirupati on Friday.

 

The awareness campaign is being organized in all colleges and schools at Tirupati and as a part of it carried out in Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan on Friday.

 

Dr Sundaram, Principal of the SV Ayurveda College presided over the program in which Prof S Jnanprasuna and Asst Professor Dr B Bhaskar Rao highlighted the significance of food in Health.

 

Director of Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan Sri Satyanarayana Raju, vice-principal Smt Sundari, 450 students from Bhavans schools, teachers and staff were also present.

Seven More Successful Open Heart Surgeries at Sri Padmavathi Children's Hospital

The Sri Padmavati super speciality children’s hospital run by TTD has successfully conducted seven more open-heart surgeries of which 4 children were discharged on Wednesday, said TTD EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy.

 

The EO visited the hospital and interacted with children and their parents, doctors at the ICU.

 

The hospital was launched by AP Chief Minister Sri YS Jaganmohan Reddy on October 11 this year and OP has begun immediately and within a month, that is on November 11 the first open-heart surgery was successfully performed, he said.

 

The TTD EO said he is happy to note that the proceedings costing lakhs of rupees was performed under the Arogya Sri scheme to poor children and lauded the doctors for their contributions.

 

The children included Pavitra (6) from Bireddypalli of Chittoor district, G Venkata Naga Seshu (2 months infant) from Konidela village, Nandikotkur Mandal of Kurnool district, Rishita a 4- year old girl from Damalacheruvu of Chittoor district, Vedantam (4) of Appulakunta village of Anantapur, Yakshita 4 months baby from Pallipattu of Tamilnadu and Inshad (4 months) baby from Tadapari of Anantapur, Gautam (4 months) from Dhone of Kurnool district.

   

The EO said specialists doctor’s team lead by Dr Srinath Reddy performed surgeries successfully after patients were unable to pay huge cost of operations suggested by the corporate hospitals at Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Parents of the children who underwent operation told the TTD EO they are ever grateful TTD management that with the blessings of Sri Venkateswara Swamy their children survived from death.

 

"My son was diagnosed of a heart ailment on the sixth day of his birth and his body had become blue. We visited all corporate hospitals in vain and when we heard of TTD’s children hospital we came here with a last hope and our son is reborn at the lotus feet of Srivaru ", an emotional Shyamala, mother of Vedanta from Hindupur.

 

"Our son was always weeping since birth and on doctors, examination was told of need of heart operation,” said father of konidela Venkata Shesha Nagu. We were directed to this hospital and luckily our boy survived", he expressed with joy of tears oozing out from his eyes.

Two Successful Open-Heart Surgeries at Sri Padmavathi Children Hospital

 Sri Padmavati Children's Super speciality Cardiac Hospital set up by TTD has set a stellar record with successful open-heart surgeries on two ailing children from Chittoor and Anantapur districts respectively.

 

According to the Director of the Hospital, Dr Srinath Reddy, among the two, the first patient was an 18-month-old boy, Harshith born with a heart ailment, hailing from Lakshmipuram of Kuppam in Chittoor district.

 

His parents had brought the child to Tirupati on Friday last week after other hospitals diagnosed a costly operation costing to a lakh. As they could not afford the costly treatment, over the suggestion of their near, they brought him to Sri Padmavathi Cardiac hospital. Immediately after admission several tests were conducted and doctors diagnosed an operation to separate the mixed arteries carrying blood to heart. After a five hour procedure, the anomaly was set right and Harshith is now recovering in the ICU.

 

In a similar case, a 3-year-old Bala Chandra Nayak of MNP Thanda in Anantapur suffered from heart disorder. The doctors at Sri Padmavati children hospital acted swiftly after reports displayed a blockage and performed a five-hour procedure of Open Heart Surgery (intracardiac repair).

 

It may be mentioned here that very recently a girl from YSR Kadapa district, Kavita was also successfully operated and was registered as the first cardiac case to be dealt with.

 

Dr Srikanth says the hospital is geared to perform 100 surgeries in a month from January onwards.
