Expert Committee to Present the Evidence on Birth Place of Lord Hanuman on 13th April on the Occasion of Ugadi





Tirupati, 8 Apr. 21: Tirumala, the abode of Sri Venkateswara Swamy which is the ultimate destination of every Hindu in the world is soon to be labelled as the birth place of Sri Anjaneya, with the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam all set to present epigraphical and scientific evidences confirming the same on the auspicious day of Ugadi on April 13.

 

In this context, a detailed review meeting was held in the chambers of TTD EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy in the Administrative Building in Tirupati on Thursday with the Committee members who have done in depth research since December last.

 

The EO has sought the scholars to come out with astronomical, epigraphical, scientific puranic evidences and salient features of that could be presented to the public on Ugadi. He also asked them to bring out a comprehensive book with these evidences proving Anjanadri as birthplace of Hanuman within a couple of months.

 

It may be recalled that TTD has constituted a committee in December 2020 to study in detail about the evidences that Anjanadri Hills as birthplace of Hanuman. The scholars committee comprised of Prof. Sannidhanam Sudarshana Sharma, VC of Vedic Varsity, Prof. Muralidhara Sharma, VC of National Sanskrit Varsity, professors Sri Ranisadasiva Murthy, Sri Janumaddi Ramakrishna, Sri Sankaranarayana, ISRO Scientist Sri Murthi Remilla, Deputy Director of State Archaeology Sri Vijay Kumar as members and Project Officer of Higher Vedic studies Dr A Vibhishana Sharma as Convenor. 

 

The Committee met several times and elaborately researched on the various evidences to strongly establish Anjanadri as the birthplace of Hanuman. The evidences from Siva, Brahma, Brahmanda, Varaha, Matsya puranas, Venkatachala Mahatyam, Varahamihira Brihatsamhita proving the point that Anjanadri hills located in the abode of Sri Venkateswara Swamy is the actual birthplace of Anjaneya with relevance to the dates of that aeon. 

 

Ugadi Asthanam on 13th April


 

Tirumala, 7 Apr. 21: Ugadi Asthanam will be observed in Tirumala temple on April 13.

 

The traditional temple court will be observed between 7am and 9am at Bangaru Vakili inside the temple in the presence of Sri Malayappa, Sridevi, Bhudevi and Vishwaksena. 

 

TTD has cancelled all arjitha sevas (virtual) on that day.

TTD Temporarily Suspends Sarva Darshan Tokens from April 12th Onwards


Tirumala, 7 Apr. 21: In view of the spike in Covid cases across the country in the recent times, TTD has announced that it will suspend issue of sarva Darshan tokens at Tirupati from April 12 onwards i.e. SD tokens will be issued till the evening of April 11 only.

 

In a statement on Wednesday TTD said Covid cases were on the spurt again in Tirupati city. Since thousands of devotees have to wait at Bhudevi complex and Vishnu Nivasam for time slot tokens the prospect of Covid cases is likely to increase.

 

With the spurt in Covid cases from the last few days, the Shirdi temple in Maharashtra has already suspended Darshan. As in Tirupati also the Covid cases are increasing, TTD has taken this decision of dispensing with SSD tokens in Tirupati from Monday onwards.

 

TTD said the above decision was taken keeping in view of the health safety of devotees and any resumption of tokens in future will be formally announced.

Grand Annamaiah Metlotsavam Held at Alipiri








Tirupati, 7 April 2021: In connection with the 518th vardhanti of Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, grand Metlotsavam was conducted by artists of the Annamacharya Project at Padala Mandapam near Alipiri on Wednesday.

 

Earlier Sri Hari Narayana, a descendant of the saint-poet Sri Annamacharya garlanded and performed Vaidika rituals to the Annamaiah statue at Padala Mandapam to kick start the auspicious devotional walkathon to Tirumala.

 

Artists of the Annamacharya project presented Annamaiah sankeetans and the entire program was held as per Covid guidelines.

 

Speaking on the occasion Sri Dakshinamurthy Sharma director of Annamacharya project said TTD was striving to present the significance and meaningful commentary of all sankeetans in the public domain.

 

On Thursday the pontiff of Ahobila Mutt Sri Yatindra Mahadesikan will participate in the Annamacharya Vardhanti program at Narayanagiri gardens in Tirumala and bless the devotees.

Annamaiah 518th Vardhanthi From 17th to 11th April


Tirupati, 6 Apr. 21: TTD is organising the 518th Death Anniversary of saint-poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya at Tirupati, Tirumala and Tallapaka from April 7-11 in total adherence to Covid-19 guidance.

 

The celebrations will be conducted simultaneously at Annamacharya Kala Mandiram and Mahati auditorium in Tirupati, Narayanagiri Gardens in Tirumala and at Dhyanara Mandiram and 108 feet Annamaiah statue at Tallapaka in YSR Kadapa district.

 

Acharya S Dakshinamurthy Sharma, Director of the Annamacharya project is supervising all arrangements.

 

AT TIRUPATI

 

As part of the celebrations, Metlotsavsm will be held at Alipiri Padala Mandapam. The devotees will gather on April 7 at 6am and commence a foot journey to Tirumala with bhajans and Kolata performances.

 

In the evening of April 8, Sapthagiri Sankeetana Gosti Ganam will be held at Narayanagiri gardens at Tirumala.

 

On April 8, Dwadasi Sapthagiri Sankeetan Gosti Ganam is daily conducted at the Annamacharya Kala Mandiram in Tirupati. On April 9-10 literary conference will be organised from 10.30am onwards.

 

On April 11, Sri Govindarajaswami Asthanam and Bhakti SangeetaSabha is scheduled at the same venue.

 

At the Mahati auditorium, devotional music and dance performances will be held from April 8 to 11 in the evenings.

 

AT THALLAPAKA

 

TTD is organising Dwadasi Sapthagiri Sankeertana Gana Gosti daily at Dhyana Mandiram of Tallapaka from April 8 to 11. 

 

Similarly, Bhakti sangeet and Harikatha programs are slated at the 108 feet statue of Annamacharya in the evenings from April 8 to 11.

 

Pushpayagam Held











Tirupati, 6 Apr. 21: The annual Pushpa yagam held in Srinivasa Mangapuram temple on Tuesday evening. 

 

About three tonnes of a dozen varieties of flowers and half a dozen variety of traditional aromatic leaves were used to offer floral bath to the processional deities if Sri Kalyana Venkateswara, Sridevi and Bhudevi. 

 

This event was held amidst covid guidelines in Ekantam between 2:30pm and 4:30pm. 

 

Temple DyEO Smt Shanti, AEO Sri Dhananjeyulu and others were present.
