Sitarama Kalyanam on 22nd April Between 6.30 to 8.30 PM in A Grand Way - TTD Eo















Elaborate arrangements have been made for the ensuing annual Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavams in Vontimitta and the state festival of Sri Sitarama Kalyanam will be held on April 22 between 6:30pm and 8:30pm said, TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy.


Speaking to the media on Friday here he said in view of the annual event, the traditional temple cleansing fete, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was observed. The annual Brahmotsavam will commence on April 16 with Ankurarpanam followed by Dhwajarohanam on April 17 on the day of the Srirama Navami festival and concludes on April 25, he added.


He said TTD along with the local district administration made arrangements keeping in view the heavy turnout of pilgrims and scorching temperatures.


The EO said, permanent structures have been built at Kalyana Vedika and arrangements for drinking water, Annaprasadam have been made at galleries and entry points. Both the police and TTD security will ensure safety measures towards incident free event.


District Collector Sri Vijayaramaraju instructed the officials concerned to complete the pending works including barricading, erection of CC cameras, Public Address System before April 15.


Later the EO along with the district and TTD officials inspected the ongoing arrangements at Kalyana Vedika.


On behalf of district administration, Joint Collector Sri Ganesh Kumar, SP Sri Siddharth Koushal, Municipal Commissioner Sri Suryasai Praveen Chand and other officials were also present.


While from TTD, JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, CEO SVBC Sri Shanmukh Kumar, CE Sri Nageswara Rao, and others were also present.


Wooden Chariot Procession Held










Sri Kodandarama temple Chariot Utsavam was observed with religious splendour in Tirupati on Friday.


As part of the annual Brahmotsavam of Tirupati Sri Kodandaramaswamy on a penultimate day, the Chariotsavam was held in full splendour with devotees competing themselves to pull the massive wooden chariot along the streets chanting divine names.


From 7am to 9am the event was held wherein Sri Seethalakshmana sameta Sri Ramachandra took the celestial ride seated majestically inside the chariot to bless His devotees.


From 3 pm to 4 pm, the priests will conduct Tirumanjanam and Asthanam.  


Tirumala Sri Sri Peddajiyarswamy, Sri Sri Chinnajiyarswamy, Deputy EOs Sri Govinda Rajan, Smt. Nagaratna, AEO Sri Parthasaradhi, Superintendent Sri Somesekhar, Engineering, Police, Vigilance officers and a large number of devotees participated in the Chariot procession.

Chandra Prabha Vahanam Held










On the seventh evening Sri Rama atop Chandraprabha Vahanam blessed His devotees.


The ongoing annual Brahmotsavams on Thursday witnessed Sri Rama on the pleasant Moon carrier which rolled along the temple streets.


Both the senior and junior pontiffs of Tirumala, DyEO Smt Nagaratna and others were present.

Haridra Ghatanam on 13th April




The traditional temple cleansing fete, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be performed in Sri Kodanda Ramalayam at Vontimitta in Kadapa district on Friday.


As the Sri Rama Navami Utsavalu including the annual Brahmotsavams are set to commence from April 17 onwards till April 25, TTD is making elaborate arrangements for the big festival with the cooperation of district management.


As part of this, the temple is cleansed with an aromatic mixture called Parimalam on Friday.


HARIDRA GHATANAM


Pounding of turmeric roots will be performed for the first time in the temple premises on April 13.


This process is known as Haridra Ghatanam. It is a tradition in Hindu marriages to prepare turmeric to give an auspicious bath to both the bride and bridegroom before entering into the wedlock.


The turmeric powder thereby obtained will be used in the celestial Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 22 which will be observed between 6:30pm and 8:30pm at Kalyana Vedika in Vontimitta.

Ramachandra Shines on Surya Prabha










The seventh day on Thursday witnessed Sri Ramachandra Murty taking a celestial ride on Suryaprabha Vahanam.


The beauty of Suryaprabha Vahanam enhanced with the Lord Sri Rama shining on the Sun carrier.


Both the pontiffs of Tirumala, DyEO Smt Nagaratna and others were present.

Hanuman Carries Rama















Sri Ramachandra Murty took out a celestial ride on His favourite carrier Hanumanta Vahanam on Wednesday to bless devotees.


Both the seers of Tirumala, DyEOs Sri Govindarajan, Smt Nagaratna and others were present.

Tirupati Local Temples Observed Ugadi













Sri Krodhinama Ugadi fervour gripped in all local temples of TTD on Tuesday with scores of devotees having darshan.


Besides Tiruchanoor, Appalayagunta, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Sri Govindaraja Swamy, Sri Kodandarama temples in Tirupati, other temples like Sri Vakulamata temple in Peruru, Narayanavanam, Chandragiri Ramalayam, Karvetinagaram witnessed beeline of devotees.


TTD made elaborate arrangements for the devotees in all its temples.


Officials of respective temples, were present to supervise the arrangements.


While in Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple Asthanam fete, both the Seers of Tirumala participated.
