Vasanthotsavam Concludes




















The annual three-day Vasanthotsavam-spring festival concluded on a grand celestial note at Vasanta Mandapam in Tirumala on Tuesday evening.


The celestial Snapapna Tirumanjanam was rendered to the Utsava deities of Sri Malayappa-Sridevi-Bhudevi, Sri Kodandarama-Sita Devi-Lakshmana Swamy-Anjaneya, Sri Rukmini-Sri Krishna Swamy in a befitting manner amidst recitation of rhythmic vedic hymns by the priests. 


According to the temple Legend, the Vasanthotsavam Festival was started during the period of King Achyutaraya in 1460's. The Annual Vasanthotsavam is performed in Tirumala on the auspicious days of Trayodasi, Chaturdasi and Pournami in the month of Chaitra (March/April) every year. 


This annual fete was believed to have introduced by the King to mark the arrival of Spring Season. Lord and His Consorts are being given aromatic bath on these three days which is believed to give a soothing relief to the deities from the scorching Sun.


TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, JEO(H & E) Smt Goutami, temple DyEO Sri Lokanatham, CPRO Dr Ravi and other officials, devotees participated in this festival. 

Float Festival Concludes







As part of Sri Kodandarama Swamy annual Teppotsavams, on the last day on Tuesday evening, Sri Rama took nine rounds in Sri Ramachandra Pushkarini to bless the devotees.


In the morning along with Sri Sita Lakshmana Sri Kodandarama Swamy was rendered Snapana Tirumanjanam.


Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, AEO Sri. Parthasarathy, Superintendent Sri. Soma Shekhar and a large number of devotees participated in this program.

Devotees Take Part with Enthusiasm









One of the most important festivities in the Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavams in Vontimitta Kodanda Ramalayam, the Radhotsavam was observed with piety on Tuesday.


This wooden chariot which commenced in the morning will last till evening. The locals and devotees participate with great devotion and enthusiasm to pull the massive chariot along the temple streets chanting ''Jai Sriram''.


The deities of Sri Rama, Sri Devi and Sri Lakshmana Swamy were decked with dazzling jewels and garments and seated on a platform atop the Radham.


The devotees cheered the deities and offered Haratis at every junction all through the massive wooden chariot procession.


TTD officials and devotees were present.

Float Festival Observed










As part of Sri Kodandarama Swamy annual Teppotsavams, on the second day on Monday evening, Sri Rama took seven rounds in Sri Ramachandra Pushkarini to bless the devotees.


In the morning along with Sri Sita Lakshmana Sri Kodandarama Swamy was rendered Snapana Tirumanjanam.


Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, AEO Sri. Parthasarathy, Superintendent Sri. Soma Shekhar and a large number of devotees participated in this program.

Silks and Pearls Presented










On the auspicious occasion of Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy Brahmotsavam in connection with Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam,  on behalf of the State Government, the AP Endowment Special Chief Secretary Sri Karikala Valavan, presented silk clothes and pearls to the deities.  


In this program, TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, JEOs Sri. Veerabraham, Smt. Gauthami and other officials participated.

Srivari Presents Ornaments to Sri Ram









TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy has Presented ornaments comprising jewels and Puja Utensils to Vontimitta Kodanda Ramalayam from Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy on Monday evening.


On the celestial occasion of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam, a total of 13 ornaments worth nearly Rs.31lakhs have been presented.


The following are the list of ornaments.


Gold Necklace with Lakshmi Patakam - Rs.1. 82lakhs

Navratna Beads Gold Necklace - 

Rs. 2.28lakhs

Lakshmi Patakam - Rs.4.25lakhs

Pearl necklace with gold Patakam -Rs. 14lakhs

Two Silver Panchamukha Dipa Stambhams-Rs. 6.5lakhs

One Silver Plate, five silver vessels, One silver Udharini worth-Rs. 2.20lakhs


Gold ornaments weighed about half a kilo and silver over 13 Kilos presented on the occasion.


JEOs Smt Goutami, Sri Veerabrahmam, DyEOs Sri Natesh Babu, Sri Lokanatham and others were also present.
