SAHASRA KALASABHISHEKAM PERFORMED AT SRI KODANDARAMA SWAMY TEMPLE


TTD conducted Sahasra Kalasabhishekam at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati on Tuesday, marking Amavasya and Punarvasu Nakshatram. The ritual began at 8.30 a.m. and was performed by the temple priests as per Vaikhanasa Agama traditions amid Vedic chanting. A large number of devotees participated and received the blessings of the Lord.

Later in the evening, Hanumantha Vahana Seva was held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Lord Sri Kodandarama Swamy, adorned in splendid ornaments, was taken in a grand procession on the Hanumantha Vahanam through the four Mada Streets, blessing devotees.

According to Vaikhanasa Agama, Pournami, Amavasya, Shukla Ekadasi, Krishna Ekadasi, Sravanam, and Punarvasu Nakshatram are considered highly sacred in Vaishnava temples.

The monthly Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam, observed on Punarvasu Nakshatram, was also performed with religious fervour at the temple Kalyana Mandapam from 11 a.m. Temple priests conducted the celestial wedding amid Vedic chants and traditional music. Participating couples were presented with Uttariyam, Ravike cloth, and Annaprasadam.

Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, Superintendent Sri Srinivasulu Reddy, Temple Inspector Sri Suresh, temple priests, officials, and a large number of devotees participated in the programmes.
