Let us all Render more Efficient Service to Devotees with 80 Years of Indipendence Spirit-TTD Addl EO

On the auspicious occasion of 80th Independence Day, TTD Additional Executive Officer Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary called in every employee to offer services to devotees with more vigor and spirit.

 In his I-Day address after hoisting the National Flag at his camp office, in Tirumala, the Additional EO outlined reforms that included emphasising technology, transparency and systematic management to improve pilgrim services, protect the environment and strengthen administration.

Exceepts from his I Day speech: 

Electric buses: To curb vehicular pollution (10,000–14,000 vehicles/day), 37 additional electric buses will be provided with donor support; about 25 buses are expected for upcoming Brahmotsavams. Plans aim to make free buses available approximately every two minutes.

ICCC upgrade: The second phase of the Integrated Command and Control Centre, developed with the support of an NRI, now provides real-time data on pilgrim locations, wait times, arrivals and darshan throughput, and enables forecasting based on three years of historical data plus current trends.

Wildlife monitoring: A technology-based system to track wildlife movement, duration and proximity to pilgrims has been developed, with plans to expand it to enhance safety for pilgrims and forest staff.

Luggage management: Reforms in luggage counters enabled efficient deposit and delivery of around 2.6 crore bags in the past five months; further improvements are ongoing.

Food laboratory: With FSSAI support, a state-level food laboratory was established and within nine to ten months it has become operational, testing rice, pulses, cooked food, laddus, water and other items with efficiency 

Annaprasadam storage: A plan for a modern Tirupati warehouse with cold storage and advanced logistics is ready; operationalisation is targeted within 1–1.5 years.

Cultural ambience: Streets in Tirumala will be named after devotees, Alwars, historical figures and spiritual leaders to preserve and promote their legacy.

Kalyanakatta modernisation: A work plan prioritises modern facilities and employee health; health screenings have begun, with annual exams and continuous health monitoring planned.

Laddu sales: Approximately 1.30 crore laddus were sold in a single month which is a sign of enhanced quality and credibility of devotees towrds the Laddu Prasadams. The figures set a record attributed to coordinated departmental effort and devotees’ faith.

Digital procurement and Nandakam app: A digital procurement platform is being implemented to enhance transparency and accountability. The Nandakam app will monitor employee services — health, FMS, complaints and efficiency — and track resolution times.

Single administrative block and policy reforms: A site has been identified for a consolidated administrative building to improve coordination. Policies (including Cottage and Donation policies) are being introduced to ensure clarity and legal framework across functions.

Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary credited these achievements to the collective departmental efforts, urged employees to accept constructive feedback, learn from failures and continue serving devotees with dedication and human values.

He expressed hope for further innovative reforms by next Independence Day.
