The divine wedding of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi was performed in a grand and devotional atmosphere at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Tarigonda on Friday.
As part of the 209th death anniversary celebrations of Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba, the traditional Kalyanotsavam was conducted at her birthplace, Tarigonda.
The festival began at 6 pm with the processional deities brought to the Kalyana Vedika. The wedding rituals, including Punyahavachanam, Kanyadanam, Kankanadharanam, Mangalya Dharanam and Mangalasasanam, were performed as per tradition amid Vedic chants and auspicious music.
The ceremony concluded with Nakshatra Harathi and Mangala Harathi.
A large number of devotees attended the Kalyanotsavam, filling Tarigonda with the chanting of “Govinda”. The rituals were conducted under the guidance of chief priests Sri K. Gopala Bhattar and Sri Krishna Raja Bhattar.
Tarigonda Vengamamba Project Special Officer Dr. Vema Venkata Ratnam, Superintendent Smt. Suseela, Senior Assistant Sri L.N.V. Ravikumar, temple priests, officials, staff and devotees participated in the celebrations.
