A devotee from Hyderabad, Sri Madhusheṣu donated Rs. 12.55 lakhs to the Sri Venkateswara Go Samrakshana Trust of TTD on Thursday.
Similarly Sri Alapati Satyadev from Hyderabad donated Rs. 5 lakhs to the TTD BIRRD Trust.
On behalf of the donors, TTD Board Member Sri Nannapaneni Sadashiva Rao handed over the donation DDs to TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravi Chandra at the Ranganayakula Mandapam in the Srivari Temple.
Sri Ravikumar, Proprietor of Srujan Jewellery from Hyderabad donated Rs. 10 lakhs to the Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam Trust and Rs. 10 lakhs to the Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust of TTD on Thursday.
He handed over the donation cheque to TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu at the Chairman’s Office.
Acharya Rajagopalacharyulu, Retired Principal of Government College, Bhimavaram, stated that Tallapaka Annamacharya composed and widely propagated Sankeertanas centered on Lord Venkateswara to revive declining devotion among the people and to foster spiritual unity in the backdrop of the socio-political conditions of his time.
As part of the 523rd death anniversary celebrations of Annamacharya being held in Tirupati, the literary seminars at Annamacharya Kalamandiram reached the fourth day on Thursday.
Presiding over the session, Acharya Rajagopalacharyulu spoke on the theme “Annamayya – Philosophy.” He noted that Annamayya’s compositions impart values such as detachment, renunciation, and control of desires, guiding people on the path of spirituality and liberation (moksha).
He described Annamayya as a great devotee of Lord who brought the essence of Vedanta closer to common people through devotion. He emphasized that through Nama Sankeertana and chanting of the divine name, one can attain the Almighty beyond barriers of caste, creed, and religion. He lauded Annamayya’s immense contribution in bringing Lord Venkateswara closer to the masses through his compositions.
Later, Acharya Ramanatham Naidu, Dean of Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, spoke on “Annamayya – Purandara Dasa Sankeertana Saurabham.” He stated that the compositions of Annamayya and Purandara Dasa spread devotion, moral values, and the spirit of equality among people. He highlighted that the path of devotion was made accessible to all, transcending differences of language and region, and that their messages continue to guide society even today.
Subsequently, Dr. Eswar Babu, Telugu Lecturer from Government Degree College, Pakala, spoke on the topic “Annamayya Thought – Its Relevance.” He stated that each of Annamayya’s compositions carries a meaningful message for society, aimed at its betterment and in instilling spiritual awareness among people. He explained that Annamayya preached the principles of surrender (Sharanagati) and detachment, and provided linguistic, literary, philosophical, and musical inspiration to poets and composers.
Annamacharya Project Director Smt. Latha, other officials, and members of the public participated in the programme.
Ugadi festival of Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsaram was celebrated with grandeur on Thursday in the temples under the management of TTD. Special puja programs were conducted at Tiruchanur Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tirupati Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple, Sri Kodandarama Temple, Appalayagunta Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Nagalapuram Sri Vedanarayana Swamy Temple, Ontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Srinivasamangapuram Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple, and Narayanavanam Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple.
At Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple (Tiruchanur):
• From 3:00 to 4:00 PM, Snapan Tirumanjanam was performed with milk, curd, sandalwood, and other fragrant substances.
• At 6:00 PM, the Goddess was taken in a flower palanquin around the four Mada streets, blessing devotees.
• From 8:00 to 8:30 PM, Panchanga Sravanam (reading of the almanac) was conducted.
• At Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple, abhishekam was performed for the deity from 7:00 to 7:45 AM, and in the evening from 5:00 to 5:30 PM, Asthanam was held.
At Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple (Tirupati):
• The day began with Suprabhata Seva followed by Tomala and Koluvu.
• From 4:30 to 6:00 PM, Panchanga Sravanam and Ugadi Asthanam were conducted.
At Sri Kodandarama Temple (Tirupati):
• From 3:00 to 4:00 PM, Ugadi Asthanam and Panchanga Sravanam were held.
• Jeeyar Swamy offered new clothes to the presiding deities.
At Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Temple:
• Ugadi Asthanam and Panchanga Sravanam were conducted from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
At Srinivasamangapuram Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple:
• Ugadi Asthanam and Panchanga Sravanam were held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
At Appalayagunta Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple:
• Ugadi Asthanam and Panchanga Sravanam were conducted from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
At Narayanavanam Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple:
• Ugadi Asthanam and Panchanga Sravanam were held from 5:30 to 6:45 PM.
At Nagalapuram Sri Vedanarayana Swamy Temple:
• Ugadi Asthanam and Panchanga Sravanam were conducted from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.
Other Temples:
• Similarly, Ugadi Asthanam was celebrated at Karvetinagaram Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple, Valmikipuram Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, and Tarigonda Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple.
Officials, priests, and devotees participated enthusiastically in these programs.
