TTD observed the traditional Anivara Asthanam with religious fervour on Friday evening at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple in Tirupati.
Anivara Asthanam is a ceremonial annual court held on the last day of the Tamil month of Aani. Historically, it marked the beginning of the annual accounts, stocks, income and expenditure of the temple administration.
At Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, the Asthanam was conducted near the Bangaru Vakili in the presence of Sri Govindaraja Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi. New silk garments were ceremonially brought from Sri Pundarikavalli Ammavari Temple and offered to the Lord.
At Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, the Asthanam was held before Garudalwar with the utsava deities of Sri Kodandarama Swamy along with Sita and Lakshmana.
The annual ritual was also observed at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Narayanavanam; Sri Vedanarayana Swamy Temple, Nagalapuram; and Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple, Karvetinagaram.
Temple officials, Jeeyars, priests and devotees participated in the ceremonies
