With Reliance Industries Limited donating 25 electric buses to TTD, the Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary held a review meeting with representatives of the company at the Sudharma Conference Hall in Padmavathi Rest House in Tirumala, on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on establishing charging stations, ensuring adequate power supply, driver management, and creating the necessary infrastructure for the operation of the electric buses.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional EO said that all necessary measures should be taken to ensure that the electric buses donated by Reliance are put to optimum use for the benefit of devotees.
He directed the officials to make the entire fleet operational by the time of the annual Srivari Brahmotsavams.
He instructed that a charging station with a total capacity to accommodate 50 buses should be established. The charging facility should have 10 charging points, enabling 20 buses to be charged simultaneously.
The Additional EO directed that 2 MW capacity charging points be installed to facilitate faster charging of the buses.
He instructed officials to identify and train 50 skilled drivers for operating the buses. To provide seamless transportation services, 25 buses should operate in each shift, with a total of 50 buses running in two shifts, ensuring that one bus is available every two minutes.
The Additional EO further directed the officials to identify suitable land for bus parking and, in coordination with Reliance representatives, expedite the establishment of the full-fledged charging station.
He also instructed that an advanced Passenger Information System be installed in the buses so that devotees can view information about upcoming bus stops during their journey.
TTD Estate Officer Sri Venkateswarlu, IT GM Sri Venkatesh Naidu, Electrical DE Sri Chandra Sekhar, Transport DM Smt. Lakshmi Prasanna, Reliance Vice President Sri Karthik Ganesan, Senior General Managers Sri Raghavendra and Sri Vinod, along with other officials, participated in the meeting.
