The annual Pavitrotsavams will be celebrated at Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple, Tirupati, from July 26 to 28. The festivities will commence with Ankurarpanam at 6 pm on July 25.
Rituals to Preserve Temple Sanctity
Pavitrotsavams are performed according to Saiva Agama traditions to atone for any unintentional omissions or errors that may have occurred during the daily rituals and festivals conducted throughout the year.
The rituals are intended to preserve the sanctity of the temple and enhance its spiritual atmosphere.
Festival Schedule
July 26 (Day One):
Snapana Tirumanjanam to the processional deities in the morning, followed by Kalasa Puja, Homam and Pavitra Pratishtha in the evening.
July 27 (Day Two):
Granthi Pavitra Samarpana in the morning, followed by Yagasala Puja and Homam in the evening.
July 28 (Day Three):
Maha Poornahuti, Kalasodvasana and Pavitra Samarpana will be performed in the morning. At 6 pm, the Pancha Murtis—Sri Kapileswara Swamy, Sri Kamakshi Ammavaru, Sri Vighneswara Swamy, Sri Subrahmanya Swamy and Sri Chandikeswara Swamy—will take out a procession through the temple streets to bless devotees.
TTD has appealed to devotees to participate in large numbers and receive the divine blessings of the deities.
