Sri Soumyanatha Swamy Vari Brahmotsavams Begin with Dwajarohanam at Nandalur





The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy Temple at Nandalur commenced grandly on Wednesday morning with the traditional Dhwajarohanam. The Garuda flag was ceremonially hoisted on the temple flagstaff amid Vedic chanting, mangala vadyams and Govinda namasmarana by devotees. Later, Asthanam was held in the temple.

Earlier, the processional deities of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy with Sridevi and Bhudevi, along with the Dhwaja Patam, Chakrathalwar and Parivara Deities, were taken in a procession on the golden Tiruchi around the four Mada streets.

Temple Deputy EO Smt. A. Prasanthi, AEO Sri Ravi, Superintendent Sri Hanumanthaiah, Temple Inspector Sri Dileep, priests, officials, Srivari Sevaks and a large number of devotees participated.

Vahana Sevas will be held every day at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. till July 30, while Pushpayagam will take place on July 31 at 6 p.m.

The Arjitha Kalyanotsavam will be conducted on July 28 at 10 a.m. Couples can participate by purchasing a ticket priced at Rs.500.

During the Brahmotsavams, TTD's Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad, Annamacharya Project and Dasa Sahitya Project will organise daily devotional music, Harikatha, spiritual discourses and cultural programmes for devotees.
