TTD Extends Humanitarian Support to Families of HDPP Artists Killed in Line Duty

Two private artists engaged by the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP), TTD, for a Harikatha programme at the TTD temple in Satravada on Sunday morning, Sri K. Chakravarthi (Violin) and Sri K. Nagaraju Chetty (Tabla), were killed in a tragic road accident near Vadamalapeta–Pudi Cross while travelling to perform their assigned devotional service.

Expressing deep concern over the incident, which occurred while the artists were on duty, TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra, and Joint Executive Officer Dr. A. Sharath approved immediate humanitarian assistance to the bereaved families.

Accordingly, Rs. 25,000 has been provided to each family from HDPP funds towards funeral expenses. In addition, Rs. 5 lakh ex gratia has been sanctioned to each bereaved family.

TTD has also decided to provide free education up to the degree level in TTD educational institutions for the children of the deceased artists, if eligible.

These humanitarian measures will be placed before the TTD Board for ratification.
