TTD Reinstalls the Hanuman Idol as Per Agama Traditions Along 7th Mile Hanuman Idol Recovered within 14 Hours





In coordination with the TTD Vigilance Department and the District Police, the idol of Lord Hanuman that was stolen near the giant statue of Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy Temple at the Seventh Mile on the First Ghat Road in Tirumala was recovered and reinstalled.


After the ceremonial Puja, TTD Additional Executive Officer Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said that the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) played a key role in tracing the accused. Using the luggage/mobile deposit receipt, Facial Recognition System (FRS), and CCTV footage, officials identified the accused while he was leaving the after Darshan. The accused was arrested and the idol was recovered within 14 hours, he maintained.


To prevent such incidents in future, TTD will install protective grills around small temples and idols along the Ghat Road and strengthen surveillance with high-quality CCTV cameras.


He appealed to devotees to respect the sanctity of the idols along the Tirumala Ghat Roads and requested them to immediately report any suspicious activity to the TTD Toll-Free Helpline or Vigilance officials.


TTD has a state-of-the-art surveillance system capable of promptly detecting untoward incidents and identifying those responsible, he added.


TTD Board Member Smt. Panabaka Lakshmi, VGO Sri Surendra, and other officials participated in the reinstallation ceremony.
