Divine celestial wedding of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy with Sridevi and Bhudevi conducted as per Agama traditions for the welfare of the world
The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy at Nandalur witnessed the grand Kalyanotsavam of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy with Sridevi and Bhudevi on Tuesday morning, the seventh day of the festival. The sacred ceremony was performed amidst Vedic chanting and attracted a large number of devotees.
The Utsava deities were ceremoniously brought to the Kalyana Mandapam at 10 a.m. accompanied by traditional temple music. Priests then performed the rituals as per Agama traditions, including Vishvaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam, Kankana Dharana, Agni Pratishtha, Yajamana Sankalpam, Bhakta Sankalpam, Maha Sankalpam and Mangalasutra Dharana, amid the chanting of Vedic hymns.
The divine ceremony concluded with Nakshatra Harati and Mangala Harati. Devotees who witnessed the celestial wedding chanted "Govinda... Govinda..." and received the blessings of the divine couple.
Temple Deputy Executive Officer Smt. Prashanthi, AEO Sri Ravi, Superintendent Sri Hanumanthaiah, Temple Inspector Sri Rajesh, temple priests, officials, staff and a large number of devotees participated in the programme.
